What is a Nurse Practitioner specialized in primary care (NPSPC)?
The IPSPL is a nurse who has completed advanced university training (bachelor's degree, master's degree, and clinical internships). She has an expanded scope of practice that allows her to make diagnoses, prescribe treatments, and perform medical procedures independently.
It's the equivalent of a doctor's appointment, with the human approach of nursing practice.
What the IPSPL can do for you
You don't need to wait months to see a doctor. Your IPSPL can handle the vast majority of your health needs, from diagnosis to treatment, in a single appointment.

Making medical diagnoses
Prescribe medications, tests, and imaging
Perform medical procedures (Pap test, IUD insertion, cortisone injection, biopsy, stitching)

What is a clinical nurse?
The clinical nurse holds a Bachelor's degree in nursing sciences. She has extensive expertise in clinical assessment and direct care.
At the NIOS Clinic, thanks to the collective orders signed by our nurse practitioners, her scope of practice is expanded to independently cover several common issues.
