If the result is positive, a Pap test is performed to analyze the cells and guide the follow-up. The sample collection only takes a few seconds. It may cause slight discomfort but is generally not painful. Avoid sexual intercourse, vaginal douching, and intravaginal products 48 hours prior to the exam to optimize the quality of the sample. It is also preferable to avoid scheduling the test during your menstruation. Thanks to its high sensitivity, the HPV test often allows for spacing out screenings when the result is negative while ensuring excellent prevention.
