WHAT IS IT?
Nexplanon is a small flexible rod inserted under the skin on the inner side of the arm. It continuously releases a hormone to prevent pregnancy for a maximum duration of 3 years. Very effective (over 99%), it is fully reversible and can be removed at any time. Important: You must have a valid prescription and bring your implant to the insertion appointment. A consultation on contraception with us confirms that the method is right for you and provides the prescription.
FOR WHO?
This service is intended for patients wishing to have a contraceptive implant installed, replace an expired implant, or have an existing implant removed. For the placement, the implant must be in your possession on the day of the appointment. If you do not yet have a prescription, first schedule a consultation in contraception with us.
HOW'S IT GOING?

Verification and post-insertion recommendations
The procedure is quick and well tolerated. A compression bandage is usually worn for 24 hours and a slight bruise may temporarily appear. The implant becomes effective after 7 days following the installation. Removal is usually simple and can be done at any time if you wish to change contraceptive methods or plan a pregnancy. Fertility returns immediately after removal.
